If the taximeter is in sleep mode, the taximeter may ask for you to enter a pin number. If the taximeter has no pin numbers programmed, it will power up into the For-Hire mode.

If you see this, you must enter a pin number or the taximeter will not work.

Enter your 5 digit pin number. Use the tariff button to move from digit to digit and use the mode button to increment the flashing digit. Once you have your 5 digit pin number displayed press the extras button to enter it. If the number is valid the taximeter will now start up in the For Hire mode.

For Hire Mode

	The words ‘For Hire’ in the Fare and Extras windows are switched on by an option set by an Agent.
	Actions	Event
	Press Tariff Button	will change Tariff if allowed (if option set)
	Press Extras Button	taximeter will enter Sleep Mode (Eg. Time, Date Taxi ID)
	Press Mode Button	taximeter will enter Hired Mode (Eg. Start a Job)
	Press Tariff Button	will change Tariff if allowed (if option set)
	Press Print Button	will print a Receipt Ticket (only one)

Hired Mode

	The meter puts into the Fare window the initial charge and then charges by time and distance.

	Press Tariff Button	will change Tariff (if option set)
	Press Extras Button	will add Extras to Extras display
	Press Mode Button	will put meter into Stopped Mode
